このblocへメッセージを送信Kuala Lumpur-based saxophonist Yong Yandsen and Tokyo/Bangkok-based percussionist Yuji Ishihara have released their debut album, Crinkle, as Baka Duo on the Live at Khatulistiwa label. Yandsen and Yuji have known each other for nearly a decade, having met through the Asian Meeting Festival in Japan. Since then, the two have self-organised gigs together across various cities in Japan and Malaysia.
Baka Duo features Yandsen on tenor saxophone and Yuji on drums and percussion. Together, they create an ever-changing landscape of sounds with rich textures and dynamics through improvisation.
